Yes — RxPrimer is free to download and use. On the free plan you get Drug Primer Units 0 and 1 (about 10 modules), Commute Mode, one Pre-Medical Foundation category, 5 puzzles per day, 2 hints per day, and 3 multiplayer games per day. Exam Prep modules for the PTCE (Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam) and the NAPLEX (pharmacist licensing exam) are Premium-locked.

Exam Prep PTCE and Exam Prep NAPLEX are Premium features. Free users see the exam modules locked — there is no daily free question allowance. Premium unlocks the full question banks (sets of practice exam questions) for both exams.

The PTCE (Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam) question bank — a set of practice exam questions — has about 1,313 visible items with explanations. The NAPLEX (pharmacist licensing exam) question bank has about 214. They share the same study engine, but they are not the same size — do not treat “1,500+ total” as two equal banks.

RxPrimer uses the SM-2 spaced repetition algorithm — the same approach behind Anki. When you review a flashcard, you rate how well you knew it: Again, Hard, Good, or Easy. The algorithm then schedules your next review at the optimal interval. Cards you struggle with appear more often; cards you've mastered appear less frequently. Over time this maximizes retention with the minimum amount of study time.
Commute Mode is a free tab in the app. Premium is for the rest of the Drug Primer and for both exam-prep question banks (sets of practice exam questions). It is a hands-free listen-and-recall session for studying pattern cards while you drive or walk: drug name pronunciations, stem explanations, and flashcard content play through your speakers or earbuds — no screen required.
Pre-Medical Foundation is a medical terminology module inside RxPrimer that teaches the roots, prefixes, and suffixes that make up clinical language.
